Here Comes the Boy! What a handsome lad he is. Bronx is a stunning Husky mix with all the typical features that make the breed so well loved—beautiful symmetrical markings on his face, pointed ears, and those striking blue eyes. He is simply gorgeous!
Bronx was found in a heart-breaking state. As a former street dog, he had been captured as part of the crucial “spay/neuter return” programme, which helps prevent more puppies from being born into the harsh reality of street life. Unfortunately, his friendly nature made him a target for children on the streets, who tormented him—pulling him along the roads, teasing, poking, and prodding him. Despite their cruelty, Bronx continued to follow them, simply seeking companionship.
One day, our rescuers spotted him huddled in a corner, crying as he tried to escape from another dog that had been thrown at him by the children, most likely in an attempt to instigate a dog fight. Seeing him so desperate to get away, we knew we had to intervene and bring him to safety.
Since settling into the kennels, Bronx has shown himself to be incredibly loyal and kind-natured. He follows the hand that feeds him, which likely explains why he kept trailing after the children who mistreated him—he just wants to belong. In an adoptive home, he will probably become his owner’s little shadow, always following them around to see what they are doing.
Despite his past experiences, Bronx gets along well with other dogs and currently shares his kennel with both a male and a female companion. He causes no trouble and seems genuinely happy to receive regular meals and a kind touch.
Given his young age and breed type, Bronx would thrive in an active home where he can enjoy daily walks—perhaps even a nice jog. A home with a garden would be ideal so he has space to play, enjoy a game of fetch, and sunbathe in the summer. His thick coat will require maintenance, so regular grooming at home or professional sessions will help keep him comfortable and prevent his adopters’ home from being overrun with fur!
While Bronx is incredibly friendly, he can be nervous around younger children, which is understandable given his past experiences. Because of this, we believe a home with older teenagers or no children would be best for him. He is trusting and gentle, but we want him to feel completely at ease in his new environment.
Someone with previous Husky experience would be ideal, but it’s not strictly required—what Bronx truly needs is a loving, patient adopter who will show him that kindness is real and that he will never be mistreated again.
