Bruce is back with us again after being returned. Through no fault of his own, his adopter just couldn’t handle an extra dog in the house.

Bruce is a well loved resident here at Doggy Dens, all of his carers love him and he loves them right back. Bruce is a big soft fluff-ball but he will need a home who has previous experience with rescue dogs as he can be a bit timid when first entering new situations. Bruce is socially neutral on walks and could share his home with a resident dog, he has previously home shared with a lurcher, introductions should be slow and steady.

He enjoys walks and is well-mannered on a leash, though he can be somewhat peculiar around male dogs. He tends to be a ladies’ man, showing a preference for female dogs. He could coexist with another dog in a new home, provided that introductions are gradual. While he hasn’t been tested with cats, his interest in the local peacocks suggests a home without cats or small animals would be best.

Bruce is a complete cuddle-bug, he loves hanging out in the caravan where it is nice and calm, he is happy to snooze next to us on the sofas. Because Bruce is a larger dog who has the potential to be strong, we would not rehome him with young children, older teenagers who are dog-savvy will be considered as he does have a gentle nature when he is allowed to progress at his own pace.

An ideal home for Bruce would be a calm home, away from the hustle and bustle, with a secure garden so that he can sunbathe in the summer. He would suit couple or single person who have experience with timid dogs/rescue dogs. We truly believe Bruce will be a fantastic companion for the right person.

He has tested negative for brucellosis, leishmaniasis and has passed his Snap 4D test which tests for heartworm, ehrlichia and anaplasma.
