Cooper is a handsome young man who is looking for a home where he can run and play with a loving family. He is an absolutely gorgeous purebred black Labrador, he’s good looking and he knows it! With his black coat, intelligent brown eyes and handsome face, who wouldn’t fall in love with him.

He came to us as an owner surrender, unfortunately a member of the home developed an allergy and could no longer have Cooper around. Surrendering a dog is never an easy decision but sometimes it is the most loving thing to do. Now Cooper can head to a home where he can get all the cuddles he deserves.

At two years old, he is full of energy and life, requiring an active household to ensure he expends all his energy. A spacious, enclosed garden would be ideal for games like tug-of-war and fetch, while long daily walks will keep Cooper both mentally and physically engaged. While some experience with the breed is preferred, it is not essential.

After plenty of playtime he loves nothing more than cuddling up and sneaking kisses, he is a people loving dog and is always happy to receive love and attention from his favourite people. Cooper could happily live with other dogs as he gets on famously with every dog he has met, another dog would be ideal so that he has someone to play with while his owners are away. He would be happy as the only dog in the home but we would encourage his owner to organise doggy playdates or join a walking group so that Cooper can maintain an active social life.

In his previous home, Cooper wasn’t walked frequently and wasn’t neutered, leading to him often escaping the garden for self-guided walks. While it’s hard to fault him for that, his new home will need to be vigilant about potential escape routes. Now that he’s been neutered and is enjoying more stimulation and regular walks, this behaviour should no longer be an issue.

Cooper hasn’t been around a lot of children and given his potential to be boisterous, we would advise any children in the home be over 10 and have some previous experience with dogs.

Cooper is an attention seeker and a loyal friend to the people he trusts. He would be an ideal hiking companion and would love trips out with his humans. At the end of the day, a space on the sofa or a comfy dog bed would be just right.
