Opal is a delightful gem, winning hearts at the kennels with her cheerful disposition and affectionate nature. Her distinctive coat of blonde and white fur glistens with a silvery sheen under certain lighting, which inspired her name. Currently petite, her large ears suggest she’ll grow into a fine medium size. She boasts a somewhat sturdier build compared to the puppies she was discovered alongside, making her an ideal lap dog.
She was discovered on the streets, nestled among a few other puppies close to our vet’s office. It’s unclear whether they were abandoned by a breeder or had been cared for by a mother dog who fell prey to the nearby busy road. Regardless, they were vulnerable on their own, so we chose to take them in to help them find forever homes.
At just over 4 months old, Opal will be ready to travel to her new home in a few weeks. She is a charming girl who is overflowing with affection, she loves everyone she meets and is very sociable and confident. Being a young puppy she will need a family dedicated to nurturing her and helping her grow into the well rounded family dog she is destined to be.
She currently shares her kennel with the 3 dogs she was found with, she gets on beautifully with all the dogs she has met so far so we imagine a home with an existing dog would be no problem for her. Ideally a dog that has a similar attitude towards playtime, her enthusiasm might be a bit much for a calm older dog. Opal has not encountered cats yet but given her confidence and young age, she would likely adapt to cats being around if she is raised with them.
Children are no problem for Opal, especially when they come with tasty treats to share with her. She could be rehomed with children of any age, but we always advise that puppies will be puppies and are prone to nipping and will need to be taught boundaries as they grow.
