If you’re looking for an older gentleman to keep you company on the sofa, then look no further than Harry. A charming Toy Poodle, with his button nose and adorable fluffy ears, might not take up much space in your home, but he’s sure to find a big place in your heart. Once jet black, age has gifted Harry a distinguished grey and blonde beard, adding to his refined, gentlemanly charm.

Harry came to us with his brother, Tone. While we originally hoped to rehome them together, recent assessments show that they’re not particularly bonded. Both are confident enough to be adopted separately, so a solo adoption is now an option for each of them. Sadly, they were surrendered through no fault of their own – their owner passed away, leaving them both in temporary foster care.

Harry is looking for a slow-paced, peaceful home – a retirement home, really – where he can enjoy sunny spots and cosy beds. He’d love a small garden to potter about in, and while he’s an older boy, he’s still sprightly with plenty of life left in him. After all, age is just a number!

He could live with another calm, older dog (ideally female), or be rehomed with his brother Tone. He hasn’t had much experience with cats, so a feline-free home would be best. Harry would be an ideal companion for an older person or someone who works from home, as he does suffer from separation anxiety. He isn’t particularly fond of young children, but would be fine with older children visiting occasionally.

You may notice in photos that Harry’s eyes are a little cloudy – he has cataracts, which is common in dogs of his age. But don’t worry – he still gets around just fine and listens out for his people.

We don’t believe age should stand in the way of adoption – Harry still has so much love to give and is ready to share it with someone special.

Adoption fees apply.
