Little Tess is looking for a home where she can enjoy all the warmth and love a family can offer. She’s a gorgeous little lady with mostly black fur, apart from a white patch on her muzzle which gives her a slightly older appearance. She has so much love to give and would be thrilled to claim a cosy spot on your sofa.

Tess was rescued from a kill shelter in Romania – sadly, a common fate for many dogs there, as these shelters are often run for profit. Thankfully, her calm and gentle nature immediately stood out, and we knew she would make a wonderful family pet. While her passport lists her as two and a half years old, we suspect she might be a little older. She is sweet, friendly, and affectionate, and would quickly make herself at home just about anywhere.

She gets along well with other dogs and causes no trouble. She also tolerates cats, so a home with feline company would be fine, provided introductions are taken slowly and carefully to ensure a positive experience for everyone. Tess would benefit from some lead training so she can enjoy daily walks. She’s still young at heart and would pick things up quickly with the right motivation.

Not much is known about Tess’s past, so we recommend a slow and steady approach to help her settle without becoming overwhelmed. As tempting as it is to spoil a rescue dog, it’s often best to start small and introduce new experiences at her own pace.

Tess hasn’t had much interaction with children, but given her gentle temperament, we believe she would be fine with children over 12, as long as they are respectful. A crate could provide her with a safe retreat when she needs some quiet time, although we suspect she would be equally happy curling up in a small dog bed in the living room. At heart, Tess is an affectionate companion who simply wants to be loved.
