Cooper is absolutely gorgeous, and he definitely knows it. He’s a stunning mix of Labrador and Pointer, with long legs, a graceful build, and a smooth, shiny light-brown coat. He came to us because he was a bit much for his previous family, but as far as we’re concerned, Cooper is just right.
He’s an absolute smasher. He’s loving his training and picks up new commands quickly with a bit of consistency and encouragement. He’s so switched on and clearly very intelligent. He loves to play and really enjoys spending time with people. Overall, he’s just a lovely boy who has made a brilliant impression on all of our kennel staff.
Cooper is dog-neutral, which is ideal. He could share his home with another dog, ideally a female with a similar play style, but we’ll always arrange a meet-and-greet at the kennels to make sure everyone gets off on the right paw.
His perfect adopter would be someone with experience of higher-energy dogs, as he’ll need his training continued once he settles into his forever home. He already has a solid foundation: crate training, lead training, engagement, impulse control, and threshold work are all in place. He’s a dream to train because he’s so bright and eager to learn.
He walks to heel on a lead with a halti, it probably helps that he’s just tall enough to sneak his nose into his walker’s treat pouch. He loves having some crazy time and racing around our field exploring all the sights and smells. You can really see his Pointer side coming out when he is looking for something.
Cooper would make a brilliant family pet for an active household. We’d suggest children aged 12+ who are confident and dog-savvy. That said, he’d be just as happy with a single owner looking for a loyal partner in crime.
