Bucko, a magnificent golden charmer, is in search of a forever home where he can snuggle up and live a life of luxury. He’s a sight to behold with his soft golden fur, playful smile, and lively fluffy tail that never seems to stop wagging, all of which reflect his cheerful disposition.

Bucko, once a stray in dire straits, has been transformed by the loving care of our rescue team. His resilience and cheerful spirit shine through every day. Bucko would be delighted with a home that has a secure garden where he can bask in the sunshine. He’s not demanding in terms of space; a dog bed and a handful of toys would suffice for him.

Bucko is a great cuddler and is always happy to roll over for a little tummy tickle, he is very affectionate and is always happy to meet new people. His smile is infectious and he spreads joy wherever he goes. His small/medium size makes him a great lap warmer.

After sharing his kennel with dogs of many shapes, sizes and personalities. It is safe to say that Bucko would happily share his home with another dog. This would give him someone to play with and keep him entertained during the day when his owners are away. He would be just as happy as the sole dog in the home, as long as his owner gives him some enrichment like puzzle toys or snuffle mats to keep him busy when home alone.

Cats are absolutely no problem for Bucko, he is happy in there company and could happily share his future home with them. He doesn’t have extensive experience with children so we would say ideally children over 12 years old, having some previous experience with dogs would be an advantage.

Bucko is a Leishmaniasis positive dog. Leishmaniasis is a parasitic disease caused by infection with Leishmania parasites. These parasites are spread through the bite of infected sand flies. It is likely that he caught it while on the streets and has no lasting effects from it. He has undergone treatment with Milteforan and continues on Allopurinol, which we will supply to his owner for his lifetime. It’s simply a daily tablet that he takes with his dinner, eating it happily without any fuss, along with annual blood tests. He can run and play the same as any other dog and will live a long, happy life with his forever family. It is a shame that the stigma of a disease has prevented dogs from being adopted. Leish CANNOT be spread to humans or other animals.

Bucko is a happy smiling dog who just need someone to see past his Leish+ status, he would make a fantastic family pet and seeing him get adopted would fill us all with immense joy.
