When Harry was first discovered, he was wandering the streets with a large, unpleasant bite under his chin, presumably from a scuffle with another dog. He was quickly taken in for treatment by our skilled veterinary team, who were impressed by his serene nature and affectionate personality. Now fully recovered and looking better than ever, Harry is searching for a forever home.

Harry is a Caucasian Shepherd, a breed celebrated for their prowess in protecting shepherds and their flocks from predators. He’s an incredibly loyal dog with a protective instinct towards his family. A home with prior experience in handling guarding or large breeds would be the perfect fit for him. He is truly magnificent; standing tall with his tail held high, surveying his territory, he presents an impressive sight.

Despite his breed’s ancient origins as a protector of livestock, Harry has a strong preference for the pampered pet lifestyle. He revels in affection and eagerly snuggles up for cuddles, quickly shutting his eyes to savour the moment. He’s truly a gentle giant at heart, more inclined to be a lapdog than a guard dog.

Harry is neutral with other dogs on walks but would much prefer a home where he can have his own space away from other dogs. He has shown a soft side towards calmer female dogs so we would consider rehoming him with a girlfriend as long as she shares his calm demeanour. He is lovely on the lead and does not pull excessively, he is happy to plod along beside you. A bit of lead training goes a long way with this boy.

He has not been cat tested but we would be happy to do so for a prospective home. Because of his breed and size we would advise a home without small children to avoid any accidental tumbles. Children over 12 and with previous experience with dogs will be considered.

Harry is very smart and would pick up more tricks with ease. He’s very affectionate and longs for a home with a cosy bed and a spacious sofa for evening cuddles. Truly a gentle giant, we’ve become very attached to him during his stay with us. Finding him a permanent, loving home would fill us with joy.
