Our gorgeous Maisie is searching for a forever home where she will be truly cherished. She is a lovely, medium-sized lady with soft, light brown fur and the most adorable chestnut-coloured eyes. She would make the perfect lap warmer for her future adopter.

Maisie was found in a distressing condition in a small town about an hour from the capital of Macedonia. She had a large piece of barbed wire tangled around her hind legs, which had started to embed into her skin, causing her immense pain. How she ended up in this situation remains a mystery—whether it was a tragic accident or something more deliberate, we will never know.

It took time to earn her trust, but we eventually got her to a vet for a much-needed check-up, some nourishing food, and the safe removal of the wire. Now, Maisie is ready to take the next step in her journey and find a loving home.

Maisie interacts well with other dogs in our kennels and could happily live with a canine companion. However, she would also be just as content as the only dog in the home, soaking up all the attention. She adores cuddles and is always delighted to receive gentle fuss. Unfortunately, Maisie isn’t a fan of cats, so she would need a feline-free home.

Since we don’t know much about Maisie’s past, we recommend a home without young children. She would be best suited to a family with children over 10 who understand that sometimes dogs need their own space. Experience with rescue dogs would be a bonus, but most importantly, Maisie will need a patient adopter willing to give her the time she needs to settle. Crate training will be an essential part of her adjustment period, providing her with a safe retreat when she wants some quiet time.
