Nala is an absolutely stunning shepherd mix who is looking for a home that can help her grow into the confident, happy family pet she has the potential to be. She is a beautiful girl, with soft grey fur, brown feet, a sweet face and a shy nature.

Nala has been surrendered for rehoming by her owners. She was originally rescued from Romania through another rescue and has had very little exposure in her short life. Unfortunately, her owners do not have the time to give Nala everything she needs. As she is still young, she requires appropriate socialisation, guidance and space to build confidence. She is currently very timid and shy upon initial meetings but does eventually warm up.

She currently lives in a busy household with three children, three cats (including a kitten) and another dog. Due to the demands of such a lively home, Nala has not received much individual attention. She is craving a calmer environment with a steady routine, clear boundaries and plenty of opportunities to gain confidence.

Because of her owners’ health issues, Nala has not been walked regularly. Prior to her assessment, her owner informed our assessor that she had not been walked for two weeks and as a result was very happy to be out of the house and pulled like a train. However, with a small amount of guidance, she quickly began walking beautifully. Nala is desperate for one-to-one attention and training and shows a great deal of potential. Our assessor has said that she is a lovely dog who needs environmental exposure.

Although Nala currently lives in a busy household, we feel she would benefit from a change of pace and would be much happier in a quieter home. She could live with a confident resident dog and would likely benefit from having someone to guide her. We hope to bring her into kennels as soon as space becomes available so we can begin working on her training and confidence building.

We feel that Nala would be best suited to a home where any children are older, ideally aged 12 and over, who have some experience with dogs. As mentioned earlier, she is cat friendly and could share her home with resident cats.
