Calling all Beagle enthusiasts! Meet Riley, a gorgeous little lady with classic Beagle features and a sleek, long-legged build. She’s the perfect companion for strolls through the park and lazy evenings curled up on the sofa.
Riley’s journey to us was a bit of a dramatic one. She was found wandering the streets alone and, being in season, had attracted the unwanted attention of larger street dogs. Seeking safety, she hid in a bush until she was rescued. We strive to spay and neuter street dogs to reduce the number of puppies born into such harsh conditions. Dogs that are unsuitable for rehoming and have adapted to the wild are typically returned to their environment once they recover.
However, when Riley was brought to the vet, her sweet and loving nature immediately stole our hearts. It was clear she deserved a second chance at a life filled with love and companionship, and we knew she’d make a wonderful addition to someone’s home.
We suspect she is a Beagle cross and aged around 2 years old. Riley adores the company of other dogs and is always eager to play. It doesn’t matter if its a dog twice her size or one who just meets her ankles, if it has four legs and barks she wants to play! Having another dog in the home would be great for her. Since we doubt she has lived in a home before this would also give her someone to guide her in proper home etiquette. One thing to make note of is that Riley is a food lover and doesn’t like to share from her plate so we would advise feeding separately.
If Riley is the only dog in the home, she will happily soak up all the love and attention, becoming the apple of her owner’s eye. She’s an affectionate girl who adores her human companions and is wonderfully tolerant of young children, making her a great fit for families with kids of any age. Riley is patient and gentle, and she’s sure to become a loyal best friend to the children in her forever home.
As for feline companions, Riley is quite comfortable around cats. She has met the resident cats at the kennels and shown no signs of aggression, though she doesn’t interact much with them either. To ensure harmony, we recommend that any cats in the home are already accustomed to being around dogs.
