Riley is looking for a home that won’t judge him for his slightly scruffy look, he really does scrub up well, we promise! His beard might be a bit wild, but his charm is hard to miss. While he’s staying in the Romanian foster kennels, he’s soaking up all the cuddles and attention from his carers.

He was one of the lucky ones to make it out of the kill shelter. His sweet nature made us think he’d be much happier as a family companion, and since leaving the shelter he’s been loving his new freedom. He enjoys pottering around, saying hello to the other dogs, and begging the staff for just one more scratch under the chin.

Riley’s a gentle lad, though he can get a little bouncy when he’s excited just like any other dog. We don’t know much about his past, but because he’s so comfortable around people, we think he may have been a family pet before being abandoned or taken by dog catchers. Sadly, a lot of kill shelters in Romania are run for profit.

From his videos you can see he’s fine wearing a lead, though a bit of lead-walking practice would definitely help him out. He gives the sweetest, softest kisses and loves attention from people he trusts. As we don’t know if he’s been around younger children before, we recommend a home with kids aged 12+.

He’s got plans to come over to the UK soon, where he’ll get scrubbed, spruced up, and given some training to help him start his new life on the right paw.
