If you’re searching for a dog who’s as eager for adventure as he is for snuggles, Toby is the perfect match! This big Labrador mix comes with an extra dose of charm, sporting oversized ears that give him a unique, almost hound-like look. With his striking blond coat and vibrant personality, Toby is a handsome boy full of character and ready to be your loyal companion.

Toby’s story begins on the streets of Ohrid, Macedonia, where he was born. When he first came to the attention of local vets, he was enrolled in their “Trap, Neuter, Release” program—a vital initiative aimed at humanely reducing the number of stray puppies born on the streets.

After his recovery and release, Toby discovered he enjoyed being around people. They would offer him food and sometimes a kind pat, which he quickly grew fond of. One day, a compassionate passer-by noticed Toby’s charm and decided he deserved a life far better than roaming the streets. They brought him to us, giving him the chance to find a loving forever home.

Toby is currently thriving in a temporary foster home, where he’s getting a head start on adjusting to the comforts of home life. He’s fully toilet trained and well-behaved indoors, quickly becoming a pro at household routines. Toby has discovered his love for this wonderful thing called a “bed”—especially when he gets to share it with his foster parent for some cosy cuddle time. He’s equally enthusiastic about outdoor adventures, loving walks in the park and even trips to local coffee shops for a spot of tea. With his adaptable and friendly nature, Toby is shaping up to be the perfect “take-everywhere” companion!

Toby would have no trouble settling into a home with another dog—he gets along wonderfully with canine companions. With proper, slow introductions, he’s likely to become a fantastic addition to any pack. As a big, bouncy bundle of energy, Toby would thrive alongside a dog that shares his enthusiasm for play. However, due to his occasional overexuberance, a home without cats or small animals would be best.

Toby would make an excellent family dog for households with children aged 12 and older. His playful energy means he can be a bit boisterous, so we recommend that children have some prior experience with dogs to ensure everyone adjusts smoothly to his puppy-like behaviour. As Toby is still learning and growing, a bit of one-on-one training would be ideal. He’s a quick learner with a strong desire to please, making him an exciting and rewarding companion for the right family!
