Billie-May, a delightful young girl, was rescued from a shelter as a puppy along with her brother, Ben. While Ben has found a new home, we are now hoping to find a loving family for her. Billie-May is a beautiful girl with a light brown coat, floppy ears, and a charming beauty mark on her cheek. Her endearing markings have meant she gets called a “pocket shepherd” due to her resemblance to the breed.

As she has matured, we have truly grown fond of her. She is adored by her caregivers and is recognized for her affectionate nature. Her favourite thing is to stand on her hind legs and snuggle around your hips, always being careful not to knock anyone over in the process.

She is a lady of medium size, not too big or too small. She would be a delightful companion on the sofa or content with a small dog bed and crate for evening relaxation. Perfect for those with limited space, she would adapt well to a new environment with some time and patience. A home with a fenced garden would be ideal for her to run, play, and soak up the summer sun. Engaging in games of football or fetch, she might even enjoy a small paddling pool for a refreshing splash in the warmer weather.

Billie-May is a quick learner with great potential for picking up tricks through personalized training. She enjoys the company of other dogs and is always excited to socialize with a quick sniff. To enhance her experience, we recommend that her adopter joins walking groups to allow her to interact with other dogs. Some leash training would be beneficial for her, as she doesn’t get out much at the moment, which is evident in her leash manners.

Since she loves being around other dogs we would happily rehome her with another dog so that she has someone to play with as well as a mentor to watch and learn from. Billie-May would be just as happy in a home as the sole dog as long as she gets plenty of attention from her owners. Billie is also cat friendly, she likes to give them a good once over with her nose then is content to leave them be.

She doesn’t have a lot of experience with children so we would recommend any children in the home be over 12. She is a friendly girl so we don’t think she would have much trouble acclimating to children, especially if they are willing to bribe her with a few treats.

Billie-May was once known simply known as Billie, but we felt she needed a touch of flair to complement her vibrant personality. Plus, it helped avoid the constant mix-up with her being mistaken for a boy.

Tested as normal for Brucella, Giardia and the 4DX test for tick borne diseases and passed with flying colours. She is a happy, healthy girl.
