❤️🐾 BONNIE NEEDS A NEW HOME 🐾❤️
We are looking for a very special home for Bonnie, a beautiful 3-year-old Malinois mix, who sadly needs a fresh start through no fault of her own.
Bonnie has been with her family since she was a puppy. Following the arrival of a baby, she began experiencing difficulties within the home and has unfortunately started to randomly attack the resident dog. Her family have tried desperately to find her another home, but after receiving no interest, they were faced with the heartbreaking decision to take Bonnie to the vets to be put to sleep.
Thankfully, the vets know Bonnie and would not euthanise her without giving her a chance to be assessed and rehomed. They reached out to rescue, and we feel this lovely girl deserves that chance. ❤️
Despite what has happened in the home, Bonnie is a friendly, affectionate girl with people. She has also stayed at our neighbouring kennels without any issues.
Our trainer has assessed Bonnie and describes her as a lively, friendly dog. She currently needs work on engagement, listening to her handler and heel walking, but these are areas we believe can be improved with the right guidance, consistency and commitment.
Bonnie needs an experienced, confident home that understands larger working breeds and is prepared to continue her training and provide clear, consistent management.
Ideally:
🐾 No other resident pets
🐾 Children over 8–10 years old, who are dog-savvy and can be supervised appropriately
🐾 Experience with Malinois, GSDs or similar working breeds would be a real advantage
🐾 Someone who understands that these breeds can have strong, instinctive behaviours and is willing to learn how to manage them responsibly
🐾 A commitment to Bonnie’s training and long-term future
🐾 Ideally, a local home would be fantastic so that our trainer can continue to provide support
Bonnie is fully house-trained and her family have already started implementing new home-management routines. They simply no longer feel confident that they can safely continue managing the situation alongside their other dog and young child.
