Dexter is a lovely young man on the hunt for a forever home. He is a fantastic little character, probably because he knows he won’t get by on looks alone… Dexter is a medium to large-sized dog boasting a delightful coat the colour of buttered toast, with striking dark markings on his face and ears. His snaggletooth, quite endearing in itself, is complemented by petite fangs that create an eye-catching and distinctive appearance.

Dexter, at 18 months old, has been part of our family since his puppy days. He was rescued from a dump along with his siblings. Dexter is a charmer with a love for human company and a keenness for treats, which makes training him quite easy. His bounciness is just a sign of his youth and ‘teenage’ stage. We’re confident that once he finds a stable home and routine, he’ll calm down. Considering his lively nature, we recommend a household with children aged 12 or older.

He interacts very well with other dogs and would enjoy sharing his future home with a canine companion to play with. He is also fond of cats and would be content to live alongside them. While Dexter could be happy as the sole dog in the household, it would be ideal for him to have regular interactions with other dogs for playtime.

Dexter will need further training, he is still not quite used to walking on a lead and will need to learn to settle at night. Luckily he is highly trainable and would likely thrive with a bit of routine and consistency. One of the drawbacks of him being in the kennels is that he hasn’t had a lot of one-to-one training. Despite this, he really is a bright spark and could be a master of agility or obedience with the right owner.
