Max was brought to us after being rescued from the dog catchers, who picked him up as a “stray”. What we later found out is that he was thrown out by his previous owners because he isn’t a purebred Labrador! Sadly that is common in Macedonia. Despite not being a full Labrador, Max is still a handsome little gentleman who would be a fantastic companion for the right family.

Max won our hearts because he loves cuddles, he walks very well on a lead and loves to play. He is happy running around, really gentle around children and people. We think Max would be suitable for a home with children aged 12 and older, as he tends to guard his food and any food he finds. Therefore, it’s preferable for any children in the household to understand this behaviour.

Preferably Max would suit being an only dog in the home or living with a female resident dog. He gets on with other dogs with proper and gradual introductions, but can guard food (typical street dog mentality) so if any dogs are in the home they should be fed separately. Max has been tested with cats too, he gets on fine with them.

He has tested negative for brucellosis, leishmaniasis and has passed his Snap 4D test which tests for heartworm, ehrlichia and anaplasma. A happy, healthy boy.
